Nature's Playground

The house is extremely functional yet provides an open spacious environment. The ergonomically designed compact kitchen is part of a much larger dining and living area so that the chef can be with the family or guests during food preparation. This large room features huge windows overlooking the pool and the forest to the south and east.

There is a large living room which has plenty of space for a myriad of uses. A 33 ft. wall of glass overlooks the pool. The wood burning stove is in this room.

The first floor master bedroom suite features a large area with shower, whirlpool tub under a skylight and a large walk in closet. Large windows overlook the pool as well as the valley to the southwest. A wood plank vaulted ceiling enhances the ambiance of this room.

There are two large bedrooms on the second level–both with striking views of the pool. These rooms share a bathroom with a shower. There is also a smaller unfinished room on this level.

An unfinished basement under part of the house provides a large area for storage (910 sq. feet). On one side of the basement there is a large sitting/TV area and room left for an exercise area. The other side houses most of the major mechanical equipment as well as plenty of additional storage space.

There is a very nice garden/workshop in a separate building. Also a new (2005) oversized two car garage is attached to the house by a breezeway. This is an extremely well built, well maintained home in a natural setting. The present owners built the house in 1985 and have enjoyed thriving in it for 21.5 years.

A natural surface trail circles the 6.5 acres of land around the house. It goes gradually down a hill on switch backs and then follows along the side of two different creeks which join on the property. The circle trail is 1/3 of a mile long and passes under 3 pergolas. It stays on the property the entire way. A side trail leads to park land and the Seneca Creek Greenway Trail . From the Greenway trail you can go north to Damascus (about 5 miles), or head south all the way to the Potomac River where it joins the C&O Canal Trail. (25 miles!)

The house has never been home for a pet, and no one has ever smoked inside the house. We hope you will enjoy the home as much as the owners have.
